Those are the kind of characters you would let appear as side characters in your 'generic' WW2 shooter.Before you waste your energies and time searching the answer on google, I'll give you the answer: clearly no! But that's simply not enough material to make an interesting story. Yes, there were the ones like von StГјlpnagel and von Tresckow (notice the 'von'? yep aristocracy like most of the others) or Canaris (who was born into a wealthy family). So in the end, it is as I wrote above: The amount of German soldiers opposing Hitler was insignificant. Most of those were almost too old (if you were 21 years at the end of WW1 in 1918, you would have been 42 years at the start of WW2 in 1939) to serve in the military if they weren't officers. Just take a look at the Abwehr (Wehrmacht intelligence service). Yep, the aristocracy (which made up the biggest chunk of Wehrmacht-officers) wasn't particularly fond of Hitler - but those were the guys who went to university and had a completely different perspective than the average German. If you actually fought organized platoons of German troops that were true to their real-life counterparts, these throw-away Call of Duty carbon copies would be an interesting and challenging experience. This is unfortunately not represented in most World War II shooters, and it makes them less interesting. There's a good reason why Germany managed to capture half of Europe in such a short period of time, and that's because of tactical superiority and superior training. The sheer historical inaccuracy of WWII shooters is pretty annoying, too. RO2 allows you to play on the side of the Axis, but honestly, there's so little going for RO2 in terms of it's storytelling, context and narration that you can hardly even tell between the Ivans and the Krauts when they're not yelling insults at eachother. Because of this, making such a game would be suicide for the company making it. The only aspect of the WWII theme that hasn't been properly done is making the player play from the perspective of a German soldier, but most people are too stupid to understand that not all WWII German soldiers believed in the Nazi propaganda.
